Price Shopping & Plastic Surgery

I’m a true shopper to the core and nothing gets me more excited than feeling like I just got the deal of the lifetime. First, there’s the thrill of the chase then I pounce on that deal so no other competitor even stands a chance. After the purchase is complete, I may even take a sweet victory lap relishing in my success! Oh, how I do love shopping, however when choosing a qualified plastic surgeon you should leave bargain shopping behind. There are numerous plastic surgery clinics around and all of them offer a variety of price ranges. Many patients may see a lower price tag advertised or promoted and think how they can save a bundle, but the truth is, plastic surgery is one service where bargain shopping rarely pays off.

For most men and women, price does matter with most products or services that they purchase. In fact, I love finding an off-brand that I prefer over the brand name original. We all know that you can see and taste the difference between a $1 hamburger and a $12 hamburger due to its quality ingredients and extra time required to grill it to perfection customizing it to your personal preferences. This same logic can be applied to your health and well being when pursuing cosmetic surgery. Would you want inferior quality implants placed into your body at a subpar facility by a less qualified medical team? A cheap breast augmentation or any other surgery can pose risks, possibly major health issues, or even your life. Plastic surgery prices are usually what they are for a reason. Any deal that seems “too good to be true” is probably due to a compromise in the quality of work you are receiving, the cleanliness or standards of the facility where you are receiving surgery, and/or the credentials of the provider administering your anesthesia. If you’re like me you don’t really want a beginner doing your surgery and you certainly wouldn’t want to be the guinea pig while they’re still in their learning curve. When shopping for your plastic surgery, our advice is to look for the best surgeon, not the lowest price. Evaluate the surgeon’s training, experience, reputation, credentials and awards. Don’t compromise your health for the sake of saving a few bucks. It can cost you much more in the long run. Unforeseen health risks and/or revision surgeries can cost more than ever expected. You’re worth it so please use caution and discretion in selecting your plastic surgeon.
