What to Know About the Brazilian Butt Lift

Published on April 10, 2019

People have high standards for themselves. They work hard to attain an ideal body shape. But as cosmetic advantages evolve, so do expectations. Beauty ideals have become harder and harder to attain without the help of cosmetic enhancements.

Most women have excess fat in some areas of their bodies and not enough volume in other areas. To correct both of these issues, we offer the Brazilian butt lift.

What Is a Brazilian Butt Lift?

A Brazilian butt lift is a specialized fat-transfer procedure that changes the size and shape of a person’s buttocks – no implants needed. Excess fat is removed from the person’s hips, abdomen, lower back, or thighs with liposuction, and a portion of this fat is then injected into the buttocks.

The Benefits of a Brazilian Butt Lift

During the Brazilian butt lift, excess fat is transferred through injections. The advantages of a Brazilian butt lift include:

  • More fullness and curviness for the buttocks
  • A curvier and better-proportioned figure
  • Better-aligned body symmetry, so clothes fit better
  • A more toned and youthful appearance

The Safety of Brazilian Butt Lifts

The Brazilian butt lift is generally a safe procedure, with common temporary minor side-effects like bruising and swelling in the area that is treated. Following your preparation and aftercare instructions can help minimize these issues.

Who Is an Ideal Candidate?

If you are self-conscious about your rear end, you may be an ideal candidate for a Brazilian butt lift. You should be living a healthy lifestyle, with good physical and mental health. You should have realistic expectations for the procedure.

What Happens During the Procedure?

Most Brazilian butt lift procedures take two to three hours. First, the areas that are going to be addressed will be carefully marked. General anesthesia will be administered.

Dr. Wagner will then remove fat from the trouble areas (usually the belly, back, hips, or thighs). It will be removed through small incisions with a tube-shaped device called a microcannula.

The fat will be processed and purified so that it’s ready to be transferred to the graft locations in your buttocks. It will then be reinjected into the appropriate areas of the buttocks and hips. It is injected at multiple depths to give the butt a natural appearance and feel. Small drains may be inserted to prevent fluid and pressure from building up behind the incisions.

Brazilian Butt Lift Results

The duration of a complete recovery is about three to six months, but it differs from person to person. After your procedure, you may experience a degree of swelling in the treatment areas. Some of the injected fat dissolves, so don’t worry if your butt looks more significant than you’d anticipated at first.

The results of a Brazilian butt lift tend to look very natural, making most recipients grateful they opted for the procedure. The effects are long-lasting and are intended to be permanent. The fat cells that survive will last as long as any fat cell in the body does naturally.
